Unemployed or Seeking Work?

Post by roomeleven » Tue Jun 19, 2012 5:06 pm

I'm about to send my EEA3 application but unsure how to classify my periods of unemployment.

During the last 5 years of my stay here, I was unemployed for 32 days in total with the longest period lasting 14 days. During those periods I was actively looking for a job although I have no evidence of that - I lost all my old emails and never kept any other correspondence from would-be employers.

My question is how I should classify those periods - as unemployed or seeking work? I should also add that I never registered as a jobseeker and never claimed any benefits. I have never had any private insurance during those periods either.

Would there be any problem with my application considering all those periods when I was out of employment were so short?

Thank you for any help.

I would not worry about very short periods between jobs. I would not even bother mentioning those periods in the form.

But how should they be classified?

I would say job seeker but why go there?

Just list your employmet activities by the month and avoid any small gaps in between.
