SET (F) application by elderly parents on visit visa in UK

Post by arts99 » Mon Jun 25, 2012 3:15 pm

Hi,

Has anyone been able to successfully make an application for their parent/s using SET (F) while they were on a visit visa in UK?

I have seen posts which state that: If they are visiting the UK, then there should also be a change of circumstances if they want to apply for ILR. Else, they may be refused under 322(7) because of 41(i) & (ii).

and also understand that it wont be possible at all to switch after 9th July, 2010 from within UK.

However current UKBA documents/rules seem to suggest that it is possible at the moment, paragraph 119 of http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... am-mig.pdf .

UKBA does not seem to have made very clear that switching will only be allowed under very exceptional change of circumstances, UKBA fee levels for this application are quite high at the moment and hence making this post.

Thank you

I am in the process of applying. There need to be a change of circumstances.
Also I understand that it take longer to decide SET F application - 6 months or so.
