My brother has just sent off his documents via DHL, it cost him £80 for express delivery and they reached Pakistan in 3 days.

And to answer your other questions..
he made sure to highlight the specific number for my sis in law so it's clear to the ECO and kept the photos in the envelope from the printers.

17 July 2012 : Under process at BHC
20 November 2012 : Received RFC
21 November 2012 : Visa approved
Dec 2012 : Arrived in England

Also in addition to the above question, can we submit a spouse visa application prior to the wedding as I have read some posts that were from 2007-2008 of people doing this?

No. If the applicant states his status as "married" (and signs and dates the application) when not, it amounts to deception.

thanks! what if he signs and dates after the wedding so that we don't have to wait so long to hand in the documents can anyone clarify?
