Applying for spouse naturalization

Post by codeguru » Mon Jun 25, 2012 9:16 pm

Hi,

In April 2009, my wife came in UK. Same year she got ILR. Can someone advice when she can apply for naturalization?
I read this news from UKBIA extending the minimum probationary period for settlement for non-EEA spouses and partners from two years to five years, to test the genuineness of the relationship Is she has to wait for 5 years for applying the naturalization?

Many Thanks

This doesn't apply if she already got ILR.

Are you British?

Jambo thanks for reply.

Yes I am British.
I came UK in 2006 on HSMP. In 2009 I got ILR and in 2010 got citizenship.
My wife joined me here in 2009 and got ILR with me in the same year.
So I hope my wife can apply for naturalization as a British spouse?

She can apply now as a spouse of BC if she meets the requirements.
