Tier 1 (General) Extension - Pre-19 July 2010 Attributes

Post by kookamunga22 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 10:00 am

Hi Guys,

I'm preparing for my PEO Croydon appointment I'll attend next month. I've gone through the application and most of it is the same as last time but I have a concern.

No where on the application does it ask me for the date of my initial application date for my Tier 1 (General) visa (it only asks for where I obtained entry clearance and the reference number from my student visa I originally entered the country with. I switched into Tier 1 (General), I didn't enter the country on Tier 1 (General)).

My Tier 1 (General) application was made on 16 July 2010 (right before the 19 July 2010 changes!) So according to the points scoring requirements, I need 75 points from attributes to renew. I have 75 points, but I do not have 80 points in order to meet the post-19 July 2010 attributes which is where my concern starts.

My concern is that because the application form doesn't ask me anywhere on the application form when I first applied for Tier 1 (General) the case worker might reject my application.

I have my letter for when I was granted my Tier 1 (General) visa which confirms my 16 July 2010 application date, should I bring this letter to my appointment just in case there is a possible misunderstanding? Or will the case worker know by looking in their system that I qualify to extend my Tier 1 (General) application under the pre-19 July 2010 rules?

Many thanks for any advice!

CW will know the first application date as it is logged in their system.
Better take the letter and rest assure that you will be assessed based upon rules prevalent on 16th July 2010.

Take the print out of PBS calculator where you are required to input the first date of application.

Best of luck.

Am not so sure that the CW will know / pay attention. In my case, I did not carry the PBS sheet with me for my PEO, and had to submit docs and leave due to IT issue.

When I later collected my approval letter, a PBS summary sheet was attached to it, and the date of initial application on it was entered as the start date of my visa validity. It did not matter in my case, as both my dates were much before the rule changes.

So do carry your PBS summary sheet and also your letter confirming your initial date of application.
