visa processing delays!?

Post by cherie » Wed Jul 11, 2012 6:09 pm

Hi, I'm new here. I've applied for a uk spouse visa 18/06/12 in germany. I heard the decision time may take longer due to Olympics. I know its early for me but a bit worried it might take much longer than the average waiting time. Does anyone know if it's true? And is there anybody else applied for a visa from Düsseldorf Germany?

I wouldn't have though the Olympics would have much impact to be honest - by late June most people needing visas for the July Olympics would have presumably already applied for them.

And there aren't many UK visa applications made in Germany becuase German's have freeddom to come to the UK already. According to the UKBA, they only had 6 settlement applications in April and dealt with them all within 3 weeks.

Good luck with the application!
Fiancée visa application:
Documents received UKBA Bogotá: 18 May 2012
Visa approved: 19 June 2012
FLR(M) PEO Croydon: 13/11/2012, 2 Yr BRP received: 16/11/2012
SET(M) PEO Croydon: 24/10/2014, 10 Yr BRP received 28/10/2014

Would the EU route not be easier if your husband has been settled in Germany for a while? It would be free and may be a lot quicker.
