Why do invalid applications take too long to be returned?

Post by eclipse » Fri Jul 13, 2012 1:28 am

Hello,

I'm still waiting for my application to be returned as invalid as I sent a change of circumstance form with the correct payment details and they haven't charged me yet.

It's been about a month.

Does anyone know why invalid applications take too long to be returned?

And why do you think that your application will be surely returned as invalid when you have already sent them the correct payment details via change of circumstances form.

I have read on more than 1 occassion where the application was considered when the payment details were corrected. Don't you think that could be the case with yours.

Because I read (on this board) that the payment is made in Durham. UKBA tried to charge me but the CVV number was incorrect and the bank declined the payment.

I sent the change of circumstance form to Sheffield (with a reference number they've provided me) and I realised they may not have any way to charge me.

I am getting confused here. Did you made a mistake on your change of circumstances form? If not then keep patience. They might charge you with your corrected details. Since you are no longer in the loop your case will be dealt at their leisure.

No, I made a mistake in my application. UKBA (Durham) tried to charge me but the bank declined the payment because the CVV number I provided was wrong.
However, I received a letter from UKBA (Sheffield) with a reference number stating that they received my application and it would be passed to a case worker.

I don't understand why UKBA (Durham) didn't return my application as invalid as soon as the payment was declined by the bank. They sent it to Sheffield instead.

Then, I tried to fix it by sending UKBA (Sheffield) a change of circumstance form with the correct payment details. I haven't heard from them since then.

You application can still be processed so have faith. It would have came back by now if it was invalid. The time its taking says they are considering it. Good Luck.

My application was returned as invalid and I've overstayed for 27 days. What should I do next? Should I go back to my country?
