Life in the UK test

Post by send2archan » Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:29 pm

Hi all,

I recently sat for the LITUK test and passed it very easily. I will be applying for ILR (SET O). I will also apply for my wife's visa under FLR (M). As per the rules, she does not need to sit for a LITUK test right now, am I correct? She will however need it when she applies for ILR dependent after our 2 years of marriage.

I have heard that the LITUK test is about to change. Does anyone know when? Does this test have any validity? I am thinking of telling my wife to sit for this test NOW since currently I have the most recent book from where she can start reading and sit for the test. After 1.5-2 years when she applies for ILR, she can produce this test result. Is it OK? Is there a time period within which the test will expire?

regards, Archan

Hi

First of all congrats on passing your LIUK test. Well you are right your wife doesn't need to sit in LIUK test now.
LIUK test has no expiry at all and I really agree with your idea that just advice your wife to take the test now and get it out of the way. The New LIUK test will be expected to start from the end Aug 2012 or Sep 2012 the dates are not confirmed till yet so far.

Hope this will answer your question.

Good luck for your ILR.
