Salary from occasional work towards 18600

Post by Jim2m » Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:13 am

Hi,, friend
I'm going to apply the spouse visa for my wife who is a Chinese. I'm a British and have a part-time job earning £17900/yr and also working for the same employer for some casual work earning £1200 so far this year. Is it OK for the financial requirement of the new rules for my wife's application? Thanks.
Jim

All earned income is acceptable. You just have to provide the relevant paperwork. Is this casual income supported by payslips and bank statements?

Full time, part time, casual, self employed, rental income, dividends, comission etc etc are all income and acceptable.

There are specific documents required to prove the income. Have a browse through UKBA website to find out which documents are required.

Many thanks for quick comments. I'm still a bit worried about the new rule regarding 'the lowest point in the previous 6 months'.
For my situation, my earning from the regular part time job is £17900, which is less than the threshold, and the casual earning was not paid every month, as in some months there was no such work and therefore no pay. Does it mean that the case worker will take the salary level in the months I had no casual pay as the lowest point? Thanks

By the way, the regular and casual work are all paid with payslips and straight into my bank account after tax, NI, and other deduction. Thanks
