PBS Dependant not living in family home

Post by sammy741 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:29 am

Hie everyone

I am a 20 year old full time student student studying A levels in London (not living in family home). My parents live in Essex and I am still dependant on them financially. I came to the U.K in 2009 when I was 17 yrs old along with my father as tier 2 dependants to join my mother. My family and I are looking to extend our stay in the U.K as our visas are expiring soon. My father and I will be applying using the PBS dependant form.

Since I am living away from the family home does this count as living an independent life? As I said before I am dependant on my parents and I am unemployed.

Also on the PBS Dependant form Q. K10 Do you intend to live with the main applicant throughout your stay in the UK? (Yes/No) what do I say. I do intend to move back to the family home at the end of my course and live with my parents throughout my stay.

Feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks

It's fine that you are not living with your parents as long as you are not living an independent life, so you can and must answer no to that particular question. Are you working?

The applicant must not be married or in a civil partnership, must not have formed an independent family unit, and must not be leading an independent life.
