Changing Immigration Category from PSW to Tier 2 General

Post by rehan01 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 8:06 am

Hi Guys ,

I am currently on PSW visa which will expire in January 2013, currently my income £20,000 plus and for me to be eligible to apply that is what i need but i am bit confused about the duration of time with the employer, As before the rules changes in April it was something like this £20,00 per annum plus you have to working for same employer who is applying certificate of sponsorship for atleat 6 months, But since the rules change and from April onwards and now June onwards it doesn't say anything clearly about this point all it say is £20,000 or more salary and doesnt say anything about the duration or length you are working for the employer who is applying certificate of sponsorship for you. Does anyone who applied for certificate of sponsorship recently and working for the employer for less than 6 months ??? could you please reply back and advice is it ok if i am working for my current employer for less than 6 months and they apply certificate of sponsorship for me as my income is more than what is required . Please advice guys your urgent response will be highly appriciated.

It doesn't say anything about the length of employment as PSW because there is no such requirement any more. When switching to Tier 2 General the salary has to be at least £20k or the minimum prescribed by the codes of practice for the job, whichever the higher.
