Referee expired British passport

Post by lightning187 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 6:47 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if the referee for a BC naturalisation needs to have a current and valid British passport? I was hoping to ask my friend to be a referee but his passport expired over 2 years ago and there has been no need for him to renew it.

Thanks

I think this question has been answered several times before in this forum. But here goes:

It's fine for a british citizen with an expired passport to act as your referee. they will only check their systems to confirm that indeed the referee is british....using his/her passport number to do this.

good luck
