The condition is that the child cannot apply for OCI unless applying together with adult.Aug07 wrote: To apply OCI for my child either of the parent should have the British passport?
It is obvious that one can only apply/eligible for OCI once he/she has non-Indian citizenship. The Question here is how the child having non-Indian citizenship can apply for OCI? and answer is only when accompanied with the parent who is applying for OCI and child application cannot be made on it's own.gidoc wrote:>
No, one parent has to have non-Indian citizenship ie be eligible for OCI.
The statement was in the context of OP's question where both parents are Indian citizen. the child in this case cannot apply for OCI unless accompanied by adult applying for OCI.n_abhi_s wrote: Your statement is incorrect that child can apply OCI only when accompanied with the parent who is applying for OCI and child application cannot be made on it's own.
The child can apply for OCI as an adult on her/his own merit and that should be sucessfulmanyaonisland wrote:The statement was in the context of OP's question where both parents are Indian citizen. the child in this case cannot apply for OCI unless accompanied by adult applying for OCI.n_abhi_s wrote: Your statement is incorrect that child can apply OCI only when accompanied with the parent who is applying for OCI and child application cannot be made on it's own.
Do not know what you mean by that. it is clearly written on the OCI FAQ that child cannot apply on his own unless his/her application is accompanied by adult application for OCI.rowantree wrote:

@Manyaonisland, It did cross my mind. But, then I thought that maybe OP is saying that once the child becomes an 'Adult', he should be able to apply then. Maybe, OP can clarify?manyaonisland wrote:Do not know what you mean by that. it is clearly written on the OCI FAQ that child cannot apply on his own unless his/her application is accompanied by adult application for OCI.rowantree wrote:
