HELP PLEASE! - new FLR(m) form confusion

Post by mishfitt » Tue Sep 04, 2012 8:04 pm

HELP PLEASE!!. I'm filling out the new FLRm form now but some of it is confusing, i dont want to make any mistakes!

*our address is very long, does not fit in the provided boxes anywhere on the form. Does it matter if it is written on the non-boxed area?

*Section 4: we answer yes to 4.3 as my husband has children from a previous relationship (all british). after 4.5 it says if you answer no to 4.1,4.2 and 4.3 move on to section 5 then asks for specific details of the children. since we answered yes to 4.3 it implies we have to answer this. However, the section for children appears to be about non-resident children. 4.7 asks for details of the kids in 4.3. do i just list them there? also he has 3 children and there is only space for 2!

*6.21 What type of ceremony was your wedding? does this mean registry office or church etc.?

*the confusing financial requirement section - I am in full time long term employment, by husband is self employed. there is no clear section to combine BOTH our incomes. there is two separate sections for employment and self-employment. if you answer 'no' for "does you and your sponsors combined income from employment reach the total" you have to go to 7.3c which is about income not from employment. Does this mean the two methods cannot be combined? surely it is not uncommon for this format in marriage?

*9.3/9.4 I had to have my prints and eyes scanned when applying for my Youth Mobility visa in 2010. Does this count as having biometrics done previously?

AND FINALLY(!) When married, I took my husbands name. My passport is in my maiden name as are some of my bank statements/payslips. Do i refer to myself as my maiden name when signing declaration or my married name?

sorry for so many questions, its just not very straightforward and I hate to think of anything delaying my application!

thanks in advance :D

- Squeeze the address into the boxes provided - its fine to write more than one letter in one box

- Section 4 is only for children who are included in the application. British children do not need to be mentioned.

- 6.21 - yes put whether it was a civil or religous ceremony and if religous, what religion etc.

Financial reqt section - I would say ignore the form when it says to go to 7.3C and go to 7.3B instead. The form is flawed.

9.3/9.4 - yes

I think you will need to use your maiden name as this is the one in your passport - but note this will also be the name on your BRP
