Visit to the UK after divorce.

Post by spencer4632 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 11:59 am

Hi. I'm married to a German national, where we currently live and I will be getting my permanent residency when I'm eligible.

We're very happy, but my slightly neurotic future worrying self is wondering if we do get divorced, how will that affect my ability to enter the UK? We've been over a couple of times on an EEA family permit, which was fine, but is there any equivalent for EU permanent residents by previous marriage?

I have no real plans to fully immigrate or work in the UK, but we have friends there and visit fairly often.

Permanent residence is based on actual residence in the host member state and is effective in only that member state. After a divorce you would have to travel based on your nationality and UK visa rules.
