I'm engaged to my cousin in UK. She is a UK citizen. we had planned to get married in dec this year. but Unfortunately new family rules and new income threshold was implemented on 9th july. so now can i get married in dec and move to UK on my student visa, want to do masters from there.
so can i live there with my cousin in their house for the time being, she is living in a council house and pays rent for that and isnt getting any benefits from gov.
so is there's any issue to UKBA if i goes like this. We will apply for spouse visa before my student visa would expires.
so i want to ask is it OK in all this. can i do legally this and live there being married there as a student?
your kind help would be appreciated.

Technically you can as long as you don't declare your intentions to UKBA beforehand.
I'm sure some more experienced members will come along shortly.

Not trying to derail this thread, but are you seriously engaged to your cousin?

yes we are. we want to apply spouse visa but these new immigration rules and new income rule to sponsor your husband is the hurdle.
so thats why im asking that can i live there being married to a UK citizen (either by registering the marriage or by not) on a student visa legally until my student visa expires?

Yes you can. There's nothing to prohibit you under UK law from marrying your cousin either.

But the question is what you will do after your student visa expires? Will you leave her and went back? Coz requirment is almost same for marriage visas either in/out country.
Plus, if you married with somebody in UK you have to register your marriage with registrar ASAP, if UKBA come to know this trick, it wont be good for both of you and you will actually destroy your immigration history.

I'm not sure what Deviser means by 'registering your marriage'. If you marry in the UK in a church or registry office the marriage is automatically registered. If a marriage is outside of the UK and recognised under British law as legal, there is no requirement to 'register' this in the UK.
I'm assuming manbest is intending to continue on his student visa after he marries (which he can do) and then apply to switch to a spouse visa when they meet the financial requirement. There's no requirement to notify
the Home Office of the marriage if he's not switching from student to spouse.
What he should do however, is to keep documents showing they are living together as a married couple, ready for when he applies for FLR(M) later on.

Thats the reason I quoted about marriage registration as OP intended to live married life without any registration.
In some countries marriage is not mainly a legal issue, its a religious issue, where a couple can live married live after fullfiling the religion's requirments without informing anybody or Govt. authorities. Even these kind of marriages (especially 2nd marriages) are in practice in UK and been discussed in media.
