Hello all, i'm new here so would appreciate all the help i can get!
I'm currently researching my family ancestry and have come to a bit of a brick wall. I'm trying to locate any indications or resources regarding hungarians who fled to austria when the hungarian revolt failed in 1956.
The person in question i am trying to find is my Grandad, Janos Hajdu. What i know so far is that he fled to austria initially and then was given the option to emmigrate to the uk, which he did and met my grandma as part of something occuring in the uk called the world refugee scheme.
Ideally, id love to find a physical record of his registration for a hungarian immigration card or something to that effect and also any record of him travelling from Austria to the uk.
Any help would be most greatfully appreciated.
