travel on passport expiring in six months

Hi

My passport will expire on the 7th of March 2013 and i wish to travel to Islamabad, Pakistan on the 29th of September and come back on 19th of October. Can any one confirm if this would be?

Also if any one could state the entry requirements for UK regarding passport validity would be great?

My visa will expire next year in September 2013.

If applying for entry clearance as a visitor, the passport should be valid for atleast 6 months.
None otherwise.

I am on Post-Study, so it would be ok for me even if the passport expire within 6 months. On my return i will have five months left. please reply to confirm.

I know that when you travel expiry times can change depending on which country you goto and i think in Europe you can travel without any further expiry, might be best to contact the passport office or visit http://www.passports-office.co.uk
