Resident card process-need passport to travel

Post by mhetzeri » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:23 pm

Hello everyone,

I am now going through the process of resident card application. I provided all my documents together with my passport. However, I have the need to travel the 13th of October. I have looked for information at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucit ... /applying/ and accordingly to what they say they can send it to me in the pre-paid Special delivery envelope I provided together with my application. However I have the following questions:

1. Will my application for a resident card be delayed, affected or place in stand by because I am asking for my passport?

2. Only if I am asked by the authority to provide again my passport to complete the process of my application for resident card, I should send it? or should I take the initiative and send it?

"If we return your documents at your request we will not withdraw your application and you will not be required to make a fresh application. However, on occasion we may need to request your passport or ID card back to complete the processing of your residence card."

3. How can I provide again a Special delivery envelope for my other documents to be return securely once the process of my application has finished.

Thank you for the kind advice and recommendations that you can provide me.
