Child's status

Post by chosenaik » Wed Sep 26, 2012 3:15 pm

Hello, If one of the parents is a UK Citizen and the other only has ILR and the child is born outside UK, will the child automatically be British or does the child have to be born in UK for that?

Many thanks.

What was the parents' nationality at the time of birth of the child?

Not asking about "is" but "was".

"Was" either parent a British citizen when the child was born? If so, was the British citizen parent British by birth / naturalisation or by descent?

Hi Sushdmehta, at the time of child's birth one parent was British by naturalisation.

Thank you very much.
