Question regarding SET (M) for self-employed couple

Post by south100 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 3:15 am

Hi,

I didn't realize that ILR was going to be this in-depth. I have read through a number of posts but can't find our scenario, so I hope I am writing in the correct section.

I am a British citizen, my wife is here in the UK with me on a spouse visa. She has just completed the 2 year residency period so we can now apply for ILR.

We are both self-employed. I am a musician, she is a freelance translator/interrupter and also performs with me, we work also as a music duo. Her freelance work gets paid directly into her bank, most of our performances pay cash that we sign for, we then make cash deposits into her bank account.

On the SET (M), it asks for payslips, neither of us have those. Will this cause a major problem for us at the PEO appointment.

Everything else on our application, proof of living together etc seems straightforward, but the finance issue is a bit concerning.

Is there a minimum income level required, in order to meet the ILR spouse qualifications?

I hope someone can throw some light for us.

Thanks in advance,

Shaun
