Urgent help! Does terminal/serious illness affect ILR ?

Post by atlantis » Wed Oct 24, 2012 10:20 pm

I have been reading these forums quietly for a long time now and asking this question on behalf of a friend.

This friend of mine whose ILR appointment is due next month has recently got the appointment for an abdomen surgery in December due to long queues in NHS. Doctors don't know what it is exactly, could be a cyst or a cancer, so they will simply remove it in December.

My friend can go for private treatment in a couple of weeks but he is scared this can impact his ILR application next month and thus citizenship for his British born girl so he is trying to delay it by going through NHS route.

I am worried that any delay, just because of his fear of the impact on ILR, could be dangerous if it is cancer.

Could you guys, specially seniors, please guide if his health conditions can really impact his ILR and the citizenship issue for his daughter. Thanks

"Health" of an applicant is not a requirement for settlement.

Thank you so very much sushdmehta for your reply. I had been constantly refreshing the thread.

So this means any bad medical conditions won't affect his ILR application at all. Hopefully he will change his mind now with this information and will go for private treatment urgently.

If somebody else has to comment on this further, I will highly appreciate.

Thanks

sushdmehta is absolutely correct. This will have no adverse affect whatsoever.
