How long does UKBA takes to encash bankers draft

Hi Friends,

I sent my application for Tier 1 (Ent)from (PSW) on 11th October 2010. Mode of payment is bankers draft from HSBC. Still no confirmation from UKBA about application or biometrics.
Can anybody advise is it normal for such delay or how long bankers draft takes to cash.
I am really worried now and how i will know that bankers drafts have been cashed by UKBA ?

Banker's drafts do not need to wait for clearance. It's not your money from your account; it's the bank's money that is guaranteed by the bank. If the bank fails it's likely the UK govt. would step up and bail them out.

I mean to know that is it normal for such a delay in redponse from UKBA ? . I am bit concerned as I have not received any confirmation for my application so far after two weeks posting application.

I am also having same situation as u r facing right now. I posted my application on 9th of this month but still waiting for any response from ukba. But on the other hand, my friend submitted his application one day earlier then me n he got acknowledgment n Biometrics letter this week. Lets c when we will be entertained by ukba.

Hi Junoon,

Thanks for sharing your experience. What was your mode of payment , was it postal order. I think card payment applications are quicker and I paid by bankers draft and this can be reason for delay in processing of payment .

Do you and any body esle knows that how to chase bankers draft with the bank or home office.
