hourly paid income threshold

Post by imram » Fri Oct 26, 2012 10:13 pm

i have been working in a supermarket for last 8 years being paid hourly last i had career break for nine months in this year and restarted my job in october 2012.
first question
if i get paid 1550 every month for 6 months would it be ok, because i only worked for the last 6 months of the tax year from oct to march and total amount i earn in these 6 months wil be 9300 and on p60 it will be only 9300 for the whole tax year.
second question
if i contracted £10/h for 30 hours in a week i earned 1200 per every four weeks and i do over time to make it 1550 in every four weeks would it be fine.
please help

If you have had the same employment for the last 6 months then that is all the ECO is interested in, the 6 months prior to the application. You could include a letter to explain your career break and to add more weight to your application stating that you have held this job for 3 years but did take career break.

Over time is fine to include but be aware the ECO will take your lowest earning month of the last 6 and use this for the calculation, so the lowest you could earn for any month of the last 6 would be £1550
