Limited Company Dormant with HMRC even though i am trading

Post by sunil1997 » Wed Nov 07, 2012 6:55 pm

Dear seniors

I am going for ILR in 3rd week of Nov 2012 after 5 years of stay on Tier 1 General (2+3). My visa expires in 1st week of Dec 2012.

I am claiming earnings as Director of Limited Company and drawing dividends and Salary transferred from business account to personal account.

I called HMRC to pay Corporation tax. HMRC said that my Limited Company is dormant, I was shocked by hearing that even though I have being trading From Mar 2010 to till date. I incorporated my Limited company in Feb 2010. I filled annual accounts from Mar 2010 to Feb 2011 and Mar 2011 to Feb 2012 through my HMRC online by accountant.

I haven’t received corporation tax letter CT603 from HMRC to pay corporation tax because my company was dormant on HMRC Database.
If I go for ILR, will they check my company is dormant and any corporation tax paid?

I called HMRC and they said that they will update their systems it may take 4 weeks.

I am in confusion whether to go for ILR or wait until I get a letter from HMRC that my company is active

Senior members please can you give suggestions that would be great help.

Thanking you
