Life in the UK Test

Post by Indy » Thu Nov 08, 2012 10:50 pm

Not sure where to post it hence doing it here. Apologies if it is not the correct board

I will be eligible for ILR in April 2013. Can anyone tell me how many months before the eligibility can I take the Life in UK test?

Any time you wish, and if applying in person, no later than 2 working days prior to the scheduled appointment.

some more off the topic question. I will be eligible for ILR after 3 years (assuming rules remain same) is it ok if i give this test now?

I know that it is valid for life time but still just wanted to make sure.

I am asking this because i have heard that the format of the test will be changing.

As mentioned elsewhere in the forum, it is expected that there will be some transitional arrangements if the test changes.

Personal opinion - Assuming the test is introduced in the next 6 months, I doubt that those arrangements will be such that you will be able to use test results that are around 2.5 yrs old.
