I have got my tier 2 ict transferred into tier 2 general with a New sponsor.Now my old sponsor wants to retain me with a better offer. In this case, does the old employer again needs to process the tier 2 general visa or if there are ways to revert back to the original ict visa? Any guidance is appreciated.

Also are there any restrictions on the number of times one can change the sponsor in the tier2 route?

Once you got the T2G leave you cannot switch back to T2 ICT. You could change employment to another T2G sponsor, but even if that were your old employer the the whole process would have to be gone through again.
