Citizenship After ILR (Dv) Granted - When I Can Apply?

Post by jam87 » Wed Nov 21, 2012 2:35 am

My case in brief -I was granted ILR in jan 2012 as a victim of Domestic Violence. i have been living in the UK since 2008. i was told i can apply for Citizenship 12 months after the ILR was granted under spouse route because im still married to the person. I have seen on other websites that victim of domestic violence who was granted citizenship have to wait for 5 years now under the regular route.
Please, could you give me advice about residency criteria after Domestic Violence cases - can I apply for citizenship after three years of residency in the UK (because I was spouse, but fled Domestic violence), or I should wait 5 years of my residency?
