Biometric letter received but case ref no is quite confusing

Post by meemyself&I » Thu Nov 29, 2012 6:43 pm

I received my biometric letter today, after submitting my FLR M application and letter requesting to vary my application from that of a SET M to that of a FLR M (as it was a mistake from my part) on 31 October 2012.

On the Biometric letter I received today, the case ref number does not match any of the reference numbers which were on the two acknowledgement letters i had received for both the Set M and FLR M application I had made.

Has anyone experienced this previously? I am not sure which department is dealing with my application at the moment. I wonder how it can be differentiated.

I am switching from a Tier 4 Dependant visa (been on it for the past 9 years).

Also, UKBA has not said anything about refunding the £991.00 i paid towards the SET M application, but instead they had taken a further £561 to cover the fees for the FLR M application.

Does anyone know if they will refund the £991.00 back to me and when will they do it? Do i have to send in a letter requesting a refund?

Thanks for your help.

The 'case ID' is a different reference number to the one you will find on your acknowledgment letter.
