Tier 1 Dependent VISA - India

Hi

I am currently in the UK with my dependents on Tier 1 General. I am trying to get a same day PEO appointment and have been told by the Solicitor that due to shortage of available appointments in December only individual appointments are possible, I could apply for my own appointment and then apply for dependents via Post.

I need to travel to India in first week of January and my visa expires around the same time. I would like to know if I could go to India and my dependents apply for the dependent visa in India? Is it allowed or would they have to apply within the UK?
