52 days and still waiting for Biometric letter

52 days and still waiting for Biometric letter

Hi,
I had called up UKBA twice and checked. They said that my details are not there in the system yet. The payment processing team should process and then the details are udpated in the system followed by generation of the letter. They said I have to just wait as they also cannot see the details.

Has anyone experienced this before ? is this normal to have so much delay in getting a biometric invitation ?

NB: I used Bankers Draft as 1st appln was sent back saying Debit Card could not go through. My application was received on 29th Oct at the UKBA office and I got the Ack No on 9th Nov 2012.

52 days seems to be too long a wait time - I have been waiting for 28 days now and still havent heard anything - not even an ack letter.
Can you please share the number that you called UKBA on?

If you have not received the Ack Letter yet, then they might not be able to help at all. Because I have the Ack No. & still they were not able to find any details in the system. They say that the money processing team should update everything in the system. if this is not done, then that means the appln is in some queue.

And, since you have not recvd the Ack Letter for 28 days now, then you can expect something is wrong (fingers crossed). Nothing to be worried of if everything is fine according to you. Because in the 1st instance, I got my application returned in 25 days saying the transaction cud not go through (as I had used VISA debit card). Thankfully, my VISA had not expired and I could re-apply. And, after this re-application I am now waiting for Biometric Letter.

I applied on the 5th of october and i received my acknowledgement letter on the 23 october and im still waiting on my biometric letter i rang couple of times they told me my details is not in the system as yet i made a complain and they replied by telling me that during the time i applied there was a huge volume of application and a biometric letter will sent out to me shortly i also contact my MP so im waiting for a reponse from UKBA

I think this Oct-Nov time is bad for everyone. May be we will get the letters in 2013 only. :D

Called them up but they say they cant tell me anything unless my application is more than 6 months old. They have also asked me to write a letter to the Sheffield office.

Is there anyone else who applied around 22/11/12 and has received the biometric letter?

I applied for tier 1 extension on Oct 21, 2012. Acknowledgement letter received Nov 5, 2012.

Biometrics letter received Jan 3, 2012.

Wanted to check if anyone knows what the likely outcome is if they request biometrics? [/list]

Just received the biometric letter today. Never recieved any acknowledgement letter. Thanks all for help.
