i arrived in the UK in november 2000. i applied for ilr last december, application refused, given right of appeal, appealed, won the appeal but then home office appealed and so have to go for another appeal hearing in feb 2013. the refusal was because i had 2 gaps, in september 2002 and 2005. all 10 years was as a student. now the first gap has been covered so to speak as I have been here almost 12 years now. my first gap was actually the complicated one but the second gap was due to sickness and I have letters from gp to back this. although the gap was 13 days, i am confident we have a strong argument based on long term illness. what are your views, members?
the second question is, I am having my appeal in feb 2013 but not happy with my barristers, can i change my representatives at this stage? i feel the firm i am using are very weird and i don't have any confidence in them. their service is also very impersonal! i cannot speak to anyone, all correspondence is via emails which i find odd. i prefer a solicitor or legal advisor who is there when I need them! i am also mad that they changed my hearing from a london appeal centre to a birmingham one to suit them! they didn't even consult me before making this change. I am very furious with them. what should i do??????
