Old AN form acceptance

Post by faisalkhan001 » Wed Jan 09, 2013 1:07 pm

Hi,

I am little confused about the situation arise after new AN application form.

I have applied my form on 13 Dec 2012 via NCS Croydon. The NCS case worker picked an error in my application that I couldn't be able to apply the application on that day because I was on holiday on 13 Dec 2007 (this is 5 year condition defined in AN guide.) So she suggested me that she will send the application on 3 January 2013 (as I returned back from my holiday on 3 Jan 2008) and said that Home Office will consider my holidays period from 3 Jan 2008 to 3 Jan 2013. I called her on 3 Jan to receive tracking number. HO had received application on 4 Jan 2013.

Now I am not sure whether Home Office accept old form as I just realised today that HO published new form in Dec 2012 and NCS case worker didn't tell me anything about new form on 3 Jan 2013 when I called her.

Many thanks

Thanks for alerting us to the new form. I just had a look: it seems that only section 3 (Good Character Requirement) has been noticeably modified (until 2012: 12 questions, from 2013: 17 questions + neater layout).
In any case, HO will not refuse your application if you used a form that has been replaced just a few days ago. There will be a transition period of several weeks at least, maybe months. No need to worry.

Please see discussion here about the New form. Also, this link from UKBA lists various forms that changed in December and it says that the old versions will be accepted until including 3rd January. However, I notice that the list is missing Form AN. As you used NCS, maybe they can help?

Thanks Gyfrinachgar.. I agree with you there should be some grace period to accept old form. I hope everything should be ok.

Can someone remember when HO published this new form.

As per another post the new AN Form was introduced on 22 Dec 2012 and not on 13 Dec. If so than old form is valid for 21 days as provided under Immigration Rule 34i i.e up to 12 Jan.2013.

I am trying to get hold NCS Croydon since last 2 days. Now they are saying that I have to wait for 5 days until someone reply to my query. I just want to know their official wordings about this issue.

Many thanks everyone.
