When is the last day of application acceptable?

My visa is expired tomorrow.
On my passport, it says my visa expired date is 23rd of jan 2013.
Would that be still acceptable?

I think you should call up the UKBA helpline and ask this question.I think as long as you are legal you could submit ur application.

Hi Ksshhs,

if you submit your application by post via royal mail special delivery than you application date will 23/01/2013 and you will be fine.

but if you send via courier than your application date will be the date when they receive your parcel so in that case it will be 24/01/2013.

So if you submit via Royal mail special delivery you will be fine.

Yes you can submit your application within 28 days after your visa expired but then you have to give the reason why you applying late.


please check the guidance and check the application form that what information you have to provide in that case, because there is a clear question in application form do you have a valid leave to remain when submitting your application etc.

This is what I tried to explain if you send the application by royal mail special delivery than you are ok.

And it will be considered within time.

This is exactly what I explained check my first reply if application submited on 23rd than you are fine.

Your visa is valid till 23/01/2013 till 12 midnight. so if you send your case through royal mail recorded delivery before 5pm it will be accepted as in time.
