ATAS Certificate

Dear All,

My current PSW visa will expire 14.02.2013 and I am going to apply for Research (tire-4 general) visa. I had an unconditional offer from uni and applied for ATAS 0n 15.01.2013. ATAS will take 20 maximum working days to process. my question is:

If I submit my visa application pack to home office without my ATAS certificate and enclose a cover letter explaining that I will send my ATAS certificate as soon as I get it...is that make sense?

Please help me. thank you all in advance

doing so would make your application deemed as invalid. they will only confirm they have ''received'' the app when ATAS is received. If ATAS arrives at UKBA after your current leave has expired your application would be deemed as ''out of time'' therefore a straight refusal.
