Successful spousal visa app from Tunisia after 9th July

Post by chez125 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 2:30 pm

Hi

We are just waiting on the english test certificate before submitting my husbands visa application. He is Tunisian and I am english. We meet all the requirements and I have done hours of research but not come across many successful visa apps from Tunisia.
Can anyone lighten my load by advising there application was successful and any tips they might have that include not reading the UKBA website yet again :)
Thanks

Hi. I got married to my Tunisian wife May 2012 and first tried for 2 family visit visas.

These were turned down even with the backing of my MP.

We have recently put in for a settlement visa (March 5th) and have received a email that says "Your application has been approved. You will be contacted when your passport is ready for collection".

We are not celebrating as yet because it seems a bit fast to get all the paperwork from Tunis to Paris where trhey process the application, and then make a decision.

Staff at consulate and the visa processing time website indicated 2 months plus (based on January 2013 (40 working days)

Normally I would take it as read, but after dealing with UKBA on a number of issues over the years, I wait until I have seen the passport.

Enquiries to UKBA partner Worlbridge for a explanation of the term used just has them replying that they are unable to influence etc etc.

God knows why we pay them millions to say nothing at any time no matter what the query.

Good luck with your visa, and I hope tp post in next week or so that we have been successful
