Irish citizenship through marriage January 2013

Post by rezaghahremani » Sun Jan 27, 2013 3:38 pm

Do you need work to apply for Irish citizenship when you are married to an Irish citizen? We have child as well she is Irish citizen as well.
And other question is that is it any one who got their citizenship through marriage ? And after applying how long you have to wait?
Thanks :?:

No.

It is in the Ministers absolute discretion to grant or deny citizenship regardless of your employment status

The average processing time is 6 months.

You don't need to work.

It is just a matter of waiting, as there is usually no reason to refuse citizenship in such cases.

In any case, citizenship matters little as the parent of an Irish citizen child is very difficult to deport - the child is entitled to have the support of their parent in Ireland.
