Do the 6 months vistor visas allow multiple entries to UK?

I am on indefinite leave and would like to sponsor my parents for either a General visitor or Family visitor visa. Do any of these categories allow multiple entries? The reason I ask this is to know if they can come to the UK then go for a short visit to the neighbouring European countries and again come back to the UK within those 6 months. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

they would need a eu visa too to visit europe. (schengen i think it is?)..

but bear in mind: every entry entails proving to ukba staff that you intend to leave again after your visit... even if they have a valid visa, if they cant justify their reasons for the repeat visit then they could be denied entry

( although having family in the uk would justify repeat visits )

Normally it is multiple entry. I know somene who recently came to UK, then went for a Europe tour and then came back to UK again.

I meant to say, of course you need Schengen visa for Europe which needs to be applied from your country of origin.
