ILR Granted - 31 Jan 2013 - Liverpool PEO

Post by tashfeen » Sat Feb 02, 2013 1:21 am

Hi All,

I am a new member to the forum however, this forum was of a great help while I was trying to sort my ILR documents out. I got my ILR yesterday at Liverpool PEO. Below are the details:

1- VISA Status Prior to ILR - Work Permit issued in Feb 2008
2- Number of dependents on the application = 1
3- Appointment Time = 11:00

Reached the PEO 5 minutes before and was let in after a brief security check. Was given an initial token number and asked to wait. In about 20-ish minutes, I was called and asked to show my application form and Life in the UK test. The lady reviewed the application form and LIT UK. She went through the form to make sure I had filled it in correctly, asked for some details, e.g. my full name, who I was working for, and my overall length of stay in the UK. She then confirmed our LiT UK scores online. Went through a check-list and marked the relevant bits out on the form. She then issued me with a new case number and asked me to wait until I get called by to pay the fee.

In next 10 minutes I was called by the payments guy who charged me with the fee and handed me over another form confirming payments.

There was then a delay from 11:30 - 1:45. It was partly because of the staff lunch break (12-1) and after they returned at 1, there were six applicants that a lawyer was presenting - they kept getting in front while I sat and watched my number getting pushed back . I was told that they had priority - I didn't ask the UKBA staff but the lawyer herself mentioned that.

Got called again at around 1:50pm by the case-worker. Initially, he asked for my application form, and our passports. He then confirmed my full name, my employer's details and date when I was issued with the work permit. Below are documents he then asked me for: (this only took 5 minutes)

i- Employer's letter with the SOC details on it, which I provided along with its photocopy (he did ask if I had photocopies of all the documents).
ii- Bank Statements - I asked for how long and he said last three months.
iii- Payslips - Again, last three months.

He then asked me to take a seat while he confirms few details. After about 15-ish minutes he called me again and asked for a proof from employer about my compassionate leave. I provided the letter along with its photocopy. Here, I would like to mention that I had nearly 93 days absence from the UK in 2012, which was made up of compassionate + paid annual leave. He then asked me to wait while he prepared for the Biometric to be taken.

After about 20 minutes we were called for our Biometrics. While on my way back the caseworker said he would take another 20 minutes and would call me again as soon as all the documents were ready.

At around 2:50, he called again and handed over the ILR documents along with all the originals that he initially took. He mentioned that I'll receive my Biometric Card within next 7-10 working days.

Few things I would like to mention about PEO appointment; I guess I was lucky that I didn't get ask for any other documents given that other on the forum were. Also, I had a CCJ and FPN (with 3 pts and #60 fine), which I was slightly worried about. I asked the senior case worker (the guy was the senior case worker in Liverpool Office and I was taken to him by that lawyer who had six of her applicants before me as a 'goodwill gesture') and he said it won't effect my application. CCJ was issued back in 2008 and was paid and a 'Certificate of Satisfaction" was obtained. The FPN, he said, I should mention however, it will have to effect on the application, which I did. The reason I mention this is because although the app form states you don't mention it, the HO expects you mention or at least in Liverpool PEO they expect you to - not sure why.

All the best to those who are applying for theirs in the days/months to come.

Hi Kevin,

Cheers mate!

Based on my personal experience, I'd say yes. The staff were very helpful and professional. The security staff were equally nice & polite too, completely opposite to the staff at Croydon who think they are from MI5.

No, I was neither asked for P60s, nor proof of cohab or proof of "satisfaction certificate" for my CCJ or absence from the UK apart for the one on compassionate basis that I had. I was asked for only these four documents:

1- Bank statements - last three months
2- Pay Slips - last three months
3- SOC letter from employer
4- Letter from employer confirming compassionate leave

Regards,

Tashfeen
