Family Visit Visa Extension

Hi Folks,

my wife is currently in the UK on a Family visit visa (she did not meet the English language requirement 6 months ago). Before we go through the hassle of her going back to Peru, applying for the Spouse visa there and then returning to the UK..... I just wanted to be very sure firstly that the visa cannot be extended (allowing us more time to save money) and secondly, that she can't apply for the spouse visa from within the UK.

I was fairly sure on all of this until I read the pages on the UKBA website about FLR extensions.

Her current 6 month family visit visa expires at the end of March, we are legally married and she has had 2 previous UK visit visas.

Correct. She has no options other than to return and make applications in Peru.
