Need Info on valid from Date on Tier 1 General Visa

Hi

Can any one help me with this query

I got my Initial HSMP Visa which is
Valid from 08/Feb/2008
Valid To 08/Feb/2010

And then I applied for my visa extension (Tier1 - General) in Jan 2010 and visa was granted with the dates(Payment was deducted by Home office on 27th Jan 2010)

Valid From: 17/Feb/2010
Valid Till: 17/Feb/2013

Queries:
1.Why the visa is issued from 17th Feb 2010 instead of issuing it with Valid from date as 9th Feb 2010?

2.Will it be considered as a gap between Visas’s when I Apply for ILR. If yes how can I get that corrected.

3. will this be considered as visa continuity issue?

1.Visa is issued from date of approval decision
2.No, since you applied before your visa expired in Feb 2010.
3.No

There would be literally thousands of such cases, especially postal applications done near the visa expiry. So do not fret.
