accommodation and benefits

a quick question, I live in a shared 5 bed accommodation. I have a double bed room with shared Spam and bath. The house in not overcrowded. one couple (landlord), and another person lives there. That person claim benefits including housing benefits. I have never claimed any benefits. I need to sponsor my wife, can this effect our application. I have a separate contract for my room.
