Translated documents

Post by andreapg » Mon Feb 11, 2013 6:26 pm

Hi, I'm about to submit my VAF1A General Visit Visa but I have a question about some documents. Everything I have is in English except for my bank statements which are in spanish. I assume the only thing they need to see are the numbers but I still plan to have these translated just in case.

My bank will not print the statements in English so, can I just have a friend translate these herself (she is a lawyer) and sign it off? Or does it have to be done by a certified translator? (They charge $20 per page which is a little over the top in my opinion) It's really only a few words, "transaction" "deposits" "withdrawals" etc, it's not like a full on letter from the bank.

Thanks!
