i really want to know if there are any time limits when you become a citizen. i have a friend who has been out of the country for 3 yrs and people are saying he might not be allowed back coz he stayed long outside is it true

No. A citizenship doesn't expire.

Just think of children born abroad to British parents who never visited the UK. Would you think their citizenship would expire at some point?
