NHS registration for Tier 2 ICT visa for less than 6 months

Post by Dassujay » Sat Feb 16, 2013 8:42 am

Hi,
I am a Indian citizen and have come to UK on a Tier 2 ICT short term visa. The Visa validity is for 5 and half months. I have also brought my wife and kid on Tier 2 ICT dependant visa.

I had gone the nearest GP office to register for NHS. However they refused to register myself and my family saying the visa is for less than 6 months and they don't register anybody who is staying less than 6 months.

My question is that is it true that even people with work permit visa who stay less than 6 months cannot register for GP ? What are the alternatives ? There are some vaccines that will be required for my child. How do I get those done ? Since I will be paying tax in Uk shouldn't I be eligible for GP / NHS service ?

Some GPs dont accept people with < 6 months visa
Try an alternate GP
