ILR approved at solihull

Post by shin25 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 10:34 am

Hello All,
First of all "A very big Thank you" to all in this forum and all active members who contribute to these posts. I have been following this for quite some time.
My ILR got approved this week at Solihull. I would easily agree that they are the best in terms of customer service. The processing time did get delayd as there was a shortage of staff that day, but everything is okay as long as your ILR gets approved.

NOTE: For people who have scheduled to go to solihull for their apointment, please do note that there is another head office of UKBA which is also very near to the station road one (where we need to go). So please go in a bit early just in case you guys also turn up to the wrong place like I did. anyways both the centers are pretty near so its not like a very big direction loss.
I will quickly summarize what all documents I was asked for from the case worker. I only submitted the ones which were requested and I did NOT give anything additional.

1] Life in UK test (She told me I got 22/24, didnt ask which questions I did not clear :) )
2] Bank statements
3] Pay slips
4] Passport
5] Bio metric card

She apologized for the long wait and also informed that she would try to finish this case sooner (which was a good thing for me). She validated all the payslips and bank statements (I had highlighted all the salary credits) for easier access.
I then asked her if she needed any xerox copies for the same, and she was surprised that I had it. She then asked if by any chance did I have passport copies for which I said "YES" and I also told her that I have xerox copies of all PAy slips/Bank statements/PAssport all pages and xerox copies of bank statments were high lighted with salary credits.
She was soo happy that she said you are incredibly organised and she just loved it. :)
Before I left I asked her if my application is through she answered "yes" provided criminal and other checks go through.
Got the approval letter, just waiting for the bio metric card to come through.
I had around 251 days of absence but some how it did not come up, but none of the absences were beyond the 180 threshold.
If any one has anoy further questions I am more than happy to answer.

Gurus/Seniors:
My wife's visa is Tier1 dependant which has a validitiy of May 2014. Do i need to file for PBS dependant now? or can I do it when I am close to May 2014, considering that her dependant visa was applied after June 2012 so she will have to spend 5 yrs before she can apply for ILR dependant.
I just hope it does not have any issues when she travels outside the country on her tier 1 dependant.

Regards,

Re your pbs dep partners, nothing to do now. Read the PBS dependent document from my useful links below.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Thanks wpilr_nov12,
I have read the pbs dependant and it does state that my wife's pbs extension can happen before her current leave expires and will be granted for another 3 years.
"30. We will grant leave in line with the expiry date of the PBS migrant’s (or main applicant’s) leave,
except where the PBS migrant has been granted indefinite leave to remain. In these cases, we
will grant you a period of three years leave. An application for further leave may then be made if
required to take you up to the applicable qualifying period for indefinite leave to remain"

Thanks again.
