question regarding childs citizenship

Post by vhathiramani » Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:05 am

Hi,
Was awarded ILR last week for myslef, wife and daughter born in India. did not apply for daughter born in UK. she has tier 1 till may 2014.
Option 1 is to apply for her british passport right away
Option 2 is to wait for a year and apply altogether. that will save some money as applying for 2 kids is cheaper.
any opinions/ views ?

Option 2 - if you are NOT planning to travel with Daughther without the ILR.
Option 1- if you are.

Technically Tier 1 dependent child has no valid visa to re-enter UK if you have switched to ILR and not the dependent. BUT having said that many people do risk/ignore it and still get entry back in the UK.
:-)

The difference is about £300. I would get the Registration and passport done for the UK born child immediately.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.
My ILR, MN1 and kids PP stories.
