Spouse Visa

Post by seekit » Wed Feb 20, 2013 4:09 pm

Hi, I need to apply for my spouse visa. I've read other posts and stuff and it looks like we need to supply photographs of wedding is it actually required? If someone doesn't have photographs what to do?

Also I live with a family in UK as a paying guest and there is no tenancy agreement as such. I just pay them that includes all the bills etc. They are happy for me to bring my wife, what documents do I need in this case? Shall I just write a tenancy agreement and get that signed from the person who owns the house? Or shall I get inspection done by council that house is not over crowed etc?

Please help.

Thanks

Shendean isn't completely correct. You will need to submit evidence that your relationship is genuine and photographs will support this. Do you have no photos at all of you together?
It would be wise to have a property inspection to show no overcrowding.
If the property is owned by the council or a private landlord (i.e not the tenants) then you'll need a letter confirming your wife can join the household.
If the property is owned by your friends, you should submit a copy of the mortgage agreement, or property deeds if owned outright.

Thanks for the response. No we don't have marriage photographs it was simple marriage. Will it be a big problem if I don't send marriage photographs? Will be strange if people who don't have marriage photos can't apply for visa :-(

The house is owned by the person I am living with. I think it is mortgaged. I've not got an tenancy agreement with him. Just got one room in his 4 bedroom house. He is kind of friend to me that is why we didn't have any agreement etc. I can get a letter from him saying that I live in his house and he is happy if i bring my wife and I can get property survey done as well. Do I need anything else?

Thanks

Yes...either a copy of your friend's mortgage agreement (if he has one)...or a copy of the property deeds.

I m uk citizen and my wife is going to join me on dependant visa soon here in UK. I've got a question that when we'll apply for her extension after two years what cohabitation documents do we need to provide? I rent a room in shared house and no bills are on my name. I can get her to open a bank account similarly i can add her to one of my bank accounts to make it joint account. We'll have rental agreement on both of our names. I can get her have a driving license etc. What else do we need? How many documents will be sufficient? And do we need to keep all those bank statements and documents for 2 years or just 6 months are enough?

Thanks
