I currently have ILR and will have citizenship in next 6mths , we have two british children.....

Depends how much you are earning and how much rent/mortgage you pay? If your disposable income is very low you could consider getting any additional job until after the application? Also have you any savings?

The application comes under the 'old rules', in which case as long as you can show that you are able to support yourselves financially, there's no reason ILR should be refused due to low earnings.

The question is can you support yourself and deps without recourse to public funds? Your Income support rate would be a couple + 2 children = approx. £1050 per month. Therefore, you should be ok.

Rest assured that your wife won't be asked to leave the country.
