ILR Tier2 ICT

Hello,
I am in the UK on ICT work permit issued back in 2008 and i am eligible to apply for ILR by 16th Nov 2013.My immigration History is as following:
Entry clearance ICT work permit for 3 years :21st OCT 2008 dubai
Enterned UK :14th NOv 2008
My work permit expired :21 Oct 2011
MY sponser issued me with new COS (ICT long term staff) on 15th Nov 2011, 25 days after my pervious leave to remain expired.
Extension application send to UKBA on 16th Nov 2011
Fee deducted by UKBA on 18th Nov 2011.
Further leave to remain issued till 16th Nov 2013.

My questions to all the kind ,helpful people out there is that ,Will i have any problems when i apply for my ILR as i have overstayed my pervious leave to remain by 25 days befroe my COS was issued by my sponser.
I have heard that a rule of 28 days grace period exist which helps if your application is made within 28 days of pervious leave expires.Is it true ?
I will be very grateful if someone could plz help me with this.

As long as you have a strong reason to prove that why you couldn't apply before the expiry if your leave, you might just get through. All depends on how strong the reason is and can you convince HO?
